Kara life’s journey is filled with family twists from the murder of her grandparents to a DNA surprise at age 43. She has appeared on many podcasts, in multiple television interviews and articles, and is a frequent speaker on the complex intersection of genetic information, identity and ethnicity, and family dynamics and secrets.
She has facilitated educational workshops for audiences big and small on topics ranging from business taxation, to time management, to restorative justice. She is a leading expert on genetic identity and DNA surprises. It is through her work as founder of Right to Know that she assists people impacted by loss of genetic continuity.
She has a BA in Economics, a MA in Trade Policy, a JD, and an LLM.
